No one was seriously injured after a multiple-vehicle crash on the corner of Grand Avenue and Jackson Street in Waukegan Thursday afternoon.
One person was transported to the hospital after a four-vehicle crash that ended up at a gas station and left an SUV rolled over in Waukegan Thursday afternoon.
The Waukegan Fire Department and Waukegan Police Department responded around 3:10 p.m. Thursday to the intersection of Grand Avenue and Jackson Street for a vehicle crash with injuries.
Officers learned that a Nissan Altima and a Toyota 4-Runner were both traveling westbound on Grand Avenue.
The Nissan rear-ended the Toyota near the Jackson Street intersection, according to a police report.
The initial impact caused the vehicles to hit a third vehicle and then a fourth vehicle.
The fourth vehicle had been parked getting gas at the gas pump of the BP gas station on the corner, the report said.
No one was reported to be trapped in the wreckage but paramedics transported one victim to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville.
The victim’s injuries were not life-threatening. Tow trucks removed three of the four vehicles involved.
The vehicles involved came close to striking the gas pumps but the pumps were not damaged.
The scene was cleared approximately an hour after the crash occurred.
