Tragic Two-Car Collision in Waterbury Claims Teen Life and Injures Four Others

Details of the Incident

A heartbreaking accident early Friday morning in Waterbury resulted in the death of a 14-year-old girl and left four others injured. The collision occurred around 2:20 a.m. at the intersection of East Main Street and Baldwin Street, involving a stolen Hyundai Sonata and a Ford Escape. The Hyundai had been reported stolen just two days prior, on Wednesday morning.

Consequences and Investigation

The crash claimed the life of a 14-year-old girl, who was ejected from the stolen SUV and pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital. A 15-year-old boy is in critical condition with severe injuries, while two other teens sustained non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the Ford Escape, a 38-year-old man, is in stable condition, but his 18-year-old passenger is also in critical condition. The Waterbury Police Department’s Crash Reconstruction Unit is actively investigating the incident and encourages anyone with information to come forward.
