Ever since the Cullinan was launched back in 2018, it has been the most-selling and most-demanded Rolls-Royce model. Known as the most luxurious SUV on sale, the British luxury carmaker focuses on youthful touches for its SUV, thus a sportier front fascia. The updated face now looks sleeker courtesy of slimmer LED headlights with integrated inverted L-shaped LED DRLs. The revised bumper and air inlets round off the changes at the front, giving it a sportier appeal than the outgoing model.
Rolls-Royce claims that almost all owners of the Cullinan now drive the SUV on their own compared to earlier less than 70% self-driving owners. The Cullinan has also played its part in bringing down the average age of the Rolls-Royce owner, from 56 in 2010 to now 43. Another youthful touch to the Cullinan Series II is the addition of the illuminated grille that, combined with its horizontal ‘Horizon Line’ , pays homage to the Phantom series.
Speaking of other perceptible changes, the Cullinan now offers the option to spec 23-inch alloy wheels, milled from a billet of aluminium. Around the back, the changes are introduced in the form of mirror-finish stainless steel exhaust surrounds and a stainless steel protective plate adjoining the ends of the exhaust. Rolls-Royce has also introduced a new Emperador Truffle paint, which is inspired by a richly-veined brown marble.
Moving to the changes made on the inside, the most perceptible update is the end-to-end glass-panel finish running across the width of the top dashboard. Furthermore, both the digital instrument cluster and infotainment system are updated with the new SPIRIT operating system. The luxury carmaker also gives its customers the option to select the colour palette for the instrumentation. The updated operating system also benefits the rear entertainment screens offering features such as streaming, massaging, heating and ventilation. The rear entertainment screens now also offer the functionality of pairing bluetooth headset — a first in any Rolls-Royce model.
Another highlight of the Cullinan Series II’s interior is the illuminated fascia panel. Carrying the lineage from the Spectre and Phantom, the Cullinan draws inspiration for its dashboard artwork from the skyscrapers of megacities at night. The illuminated panel boasts 7,000 laser dots itched to the rear of the glass panel, each featuring different angles and dimensions to accentuate the sense of depth.
