Late Monday night, a severe collision occurred between a motorcycle and an SUV in Camden County, leaving two individuals critically injured. The incident unfolded around 11:00 PM at 425 Woodbury-Turnersville Rd. in Gloucester Township, right outside the Elmwood Hills Healthcare Center. Emergency responders found the motorcycle wedged into the SUV’s engine compartment, with both riders ejected from their vehicle.
Both motorcyclists were transported to Cooper Hospital’s trauma unit in Camden, where they are being treated for their injuries. Fortunately, the occupants of the SUV were unharmed and declined medical treatment. The road was shut down for about two hours while the accident scene was cleared and investigated.
The Gloucester Township Police Department’s Serious Crash Investigation Team revealed that the motorcycle was heading west when the SUV attempted a left turn directly in its path, causing the collision. Initial findings suggest the motorcyclist tried to evade the SUV but was unsuccessful. The investigation is ongoing, and the identities of those involved have yet to be disclosed. Witnesses are encouraged to contact the Gloucester Township Police Department at (856) 228-4500.
