Angeline Gama, a 23-year-old resident of Wortham, was tragically pronounced dead at the scene. The incident unfolded around 4:00 p.m. on CR 1001, close to SH 14, where Gama’s eastbound Honda Pilot crossed the tracks and was hit by the oncoming train.

Responding swiftly to the emergency, DPS Troopers and first responders found two young children, aged 6 and 3, who were passengers in the SUV. They were quickly transported to Baylor Scott and White in Waco for evaluation and treatment of potential injuries.
