St. Louis Police SUV Crashes Into Bar After Attempting to Avoid Dog

In the early hours of Monday, a St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department SUV collided with the front entrance of Bar, a bar located at Blow Street and South Broadway. The owners, who were asleep above the bar, were jolted awake by the loud impact around 12:30 a.m. Upon descending, they discovered the police vehicle embedded in the bar’s entrance.

Owner James Pence described the moment of the crash, recalling how the noise initially led him to believe it was a typical vehicle accident. The police reported that the officer behind the wheel swerved to avoid a dog, causing the SUV to veer off course and crash into the building. Fortunately, despite significant damage to the bar’s entrance—bent frames and shattered glass—no injuries were reported.

As authorities investigate the incident, the bar owners are left to deal with the aftermath. 5 On Your Side has contacted the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department for further information and is awaiting a response regarding the crash.
