Bay Shore Man Arrested After DUI Crash with Children in Hauppauge

On the evening of August 18, 2024, Peters Aiyeybomwan, a 43-year-old from Bay Shore, lost control of his 2016 Nissan Pathfinder while driving on Express Drive North in Hauppauge. The SUV collided with a guardrail, resulting in a rollover. The Suffolk County Police’s Safe-T Team promptly arrived at the scene and arrested Aiyeybomwan.

Charges and Aftermath

Aiyeybomwan faces serious charges, including aggravated driving while intoxicated with children in the vehicle, two counts of driving while intoxicated, and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child. The two children, both under 15, were taken to South Shore University Hospital for minor injuries and later released to a family member. Following the incident, Aiyeybomwan was held at the Sixth Precinct and was set to appear in court at the First District Court in Central Islip the following day.
