Canary Islands ‘rent-a-car’ company, Autoreisen, a leader in the rental vehicle sector and a family business with 100% Canarian capital, has been voted as the best rent-a-car company in the world for the second time, by readers of the Daily Telegraph newspaper the UK.
The ‘Telegraph Travel Awards 2023′, is an initiative that invites readers to share their opinions about their favourite cities, countries, travel agencies, and rent-a-car companies, with which they have booked and the destinations that they have visited.
The last survey was carried out in 2019, which was the first year that the rent-a-car category was introduced, and Autoreisen were the winners. It is considered a prestigious award as it is based on readers’ views and reflects the service, price, and quality of product on offer.
Being awarded the ‘Best Car Hire Provider’ for the second time since the category was created, ratifies the quality of Auroreisens services and consolidates its prestige in the car rental sector in the Canary Islands.
The award was received by Antonio Cabral de Las Casas in London, on behalf of his father and founder of the company, Antonio Cabral Betancor. For them, this award means recognition for decades of hard work incorporating innovation and transforming many processes to adapt to new market needs.
Even more so considering that the reader survey was conducted when the tourism industry was suffering the consequences of the coronavirus pandemic and struggling to get by. Antonio Cabral Betancor said “Zero tourism forced us to rethink the entire business model from a total stop at the beginning, and then gradually a return to providing an impeccable service. These have been very hard years, where we have learned to adapt quickly to an unthinkable context, but from which we have come out stronger”.
Autoreisen continues to be the only Spanish company that has won an award thanks to Telegraph readers, although national hotel groups have been nominated on other occasions.
