Incident Overview

In a distressing road incident in Adams County, an SUV collided with the rear of a horse-drawn buggy, resulting in injuries to three individuals. The accident occurred on County Road 400 West, just south of State Road 218, shortly before 10:30 AM on Monday. The Adams County Sheriff’s Office swiftly responded to the scene to aid the victims and assess the situation.

Details of the Collision

Initial investigations by the Adams County Sheriff’s Office indicate that the buggy, carrying six passengers, was heading south when it was unexpectedly hit from behind by the SUV. Three of the buggy’s occupants were subsequently transported to a local hospital with injuries that were determined to be non-life-threatening. The SUV driver, identified as 68-year-old Kent Parker from Muncie, was unharmed and declined medical treatment at the scene.

Investigation and Safety Implications

The local authorities continue to investigate the specifics of the crash, aiming to implement measures to enhance road safety for diverse traffic participants in the area.

Bystanders Pull Crash Victim From Burning SUV

A group of good Samaritans rushed over to help a man who was stuck in his burning vehicle after crashing on I-94 in Saint Paul, Minnesota.

Authorities said that the driver, 71-year-old Sam Orbovich, struck a light pole and slammed into the guardrail. Orbovich became trapped as his SUV burst into flames.

A group of at least seven people stopped their cars and rushed over to help. Video recorded by Kadir Tolla and shared on Facebook showed the group working together to pull Orbovich from the driver’s side window and out of the burning vehicle.

“All I see is there is a man in the car that can’t get out and needs our help,” Tolla told ABC News.

“It was trying to figure out, one, how to get him out of the car, so trying to break the guardrail down, pulling the car, trying to see if we could get him out on the passenger side, which was also engulfed in flames,” another bystander, Tessa Sand, told ABC News.

“You could see the fear and the panic in his eyes,” Sand said.

Miraculously, Orbovich suffered only minor injuries in the crash and was taken to the hospital.

“It’s 100% a miracle,” Sand said. “If strangers had not come together to form this community to get this man out of the car, I don’t think he would still be here today.”

Does The Color Of Your SUV Match Your Mom Personality? TikTok Thinks So

Gone are the days of wanting to know your horoscope sign or your Hogwarts house — moms are now sorted by the color of their SUVs. Well, according to TikTok, anyway. Recently, videos devoted to moms who drive black SUVs vs. moms who drive white SUVs have been trending on the platform, leading another type to enter the chat: the gray SUV mom.

Similar to how people categorize golden retriever husbands (and other types of partners as dog breeds), the SUV mom theory suggests that different-colored SUVs tend to symbolize specific personalities.

The theory holds that moms driving white SUVs are “put-together” moms inclined to shop at Target and make Starbucks runs. If you’re driving a black SUV, you’re probably a self-professed “hot mess” mom who hits the Dunkin’ drive-thru when you’re already late to drop your kid off at school.

But as TikTok mom Nicole (@nicole_obc_rn) points out in a now-viral video, we need to talk about the other major type of SUV mom. “Apparently if you drive a white SUV as a mom, you’re the ‘Target mom’ and the ‘Starbies mom.’ And then, if you drive a black SUV, you’re like the ‘Walmart mom’ and the ‘Dunkin’ mom,'” explained Nicole. “I don’t have either of those. … You guys have left out an entire subculture of mom: the gray SUV mom.”

What are gray SUV moms like? According to Nicole, they’re pretty freakin’ wild. “We’re the f*ck around and find out mom,” explains Nicole. “We’re the ‘our window tint is so dark, you can’t see inside because we don’t want you to.'” When it comes to coffee, says Nicole, gray SUV moms DGAF where it’s from as long as it’s highly caffeinated.

Other videos devoted to gray SUV moms elaborate even more. TikTok mom SJ (@sj_golden) admits she recently switched from a white SUV to a gray one, and she feels different: “I feel a little bit edgy but not quite there. I give just enough f*cks, I think. It’s the happy medium.”

Another mom described gray SUV moms as “baddies with sweet personalities.”

Sure, there are probably exceptions. No classification system is wholly perfect, but this seems to track pretty well based on the comments. So, what are moms who drive green SUVs, red SUVs, or blue SUVs?

The comment section of Nicole’s video contains quite a few possible answers.

“Red SUV mom here. We bring the chaos. (We ride at dawn!),” commented All The Wrong Things. Another red SUV mama added to the chaos theory, noting that red SUV moms are “like gray SUV moms, but we drive like it’s a race car.”

Silver SUVs are basically like gray, then? Sort of. “I’m a silver SUV mom… A gray SUV mom with just a little bit of sparkle,” commented Nicole Mueller.

To recap, from the intel on TikTok:

  • White SUVs = bougie or “vanilla” moms
  • Black SUVs = budget-conscious or “hot mess” moms
  • Gray SUVs = FAFO moms… but also sweet
  • Silver SUVs = also tough moms, but don’t mess up their hair
  • Red SUV moms = most likely to get pulled for speeding

What about blue or green SUV moms?

Green SUV moms don’t stop for caffeine. They have a Stanley full of water in their cupholders. They wanted a Suburu, and they collect National Park stickers. Family vacations are camping.

Blue SUV moms are sports moms. They either chose blue because they specifically wanted blue (for their favorite sports team), or it was just the color they ended up test-driving. They probably have the best car insurance and always have extra snacks in their trunk for pre- or post-game grumps.

And if you drive a yellow SUV, well, you’re probably too cool to talk to me. So, I have no idea what kind of personality you have. You probably have more tickets than everyone else, though, because it’s hard to miss a yellow car.

What do you think? Are SUV colors like the mom zodiac?

Citi Resumes Coverage on Lucid Shares, Praises Upcoming Gravity SUV

Citi resumed coverage of Lucid Motors‘ shares on Monday with a neutral rating and $2.90 price target. The firm emphasises Lucid’s “strong” electric vehicle (EV) technology although it raises concern on the execution risk for the upcoming model planned for late 2024 Gravity.

In a recent research note, the firm assesses the risk-reward balance regarding Lucid’s “strong” EV technology stance and “adequate” near-term liquidity.

This evaluation takes into account previous demand and branding obstacles, as well as the company’s dependency on the successful rollout of its inaugural SUV model, the Lucid Gravity, later this year.

Citi added that feels away encouraged by upcoming model and sees good prospects for success. Still, a fair amount of execution risk exists to launch Gravity on time, it adds.

Last week, Lucid Motors signed a partnership with the electric vehicle (EV) charging company Wallbox to provide chargers to its European customers.

The company reported recently the delivery of 1,967 vehicles in the first quarter of the year while producing 1,728 units. In late February, Lucid provided a production guidance of “approximately 9,000” vehicles, up from the 8,428 units in 2023.

Lucid will host its conference call to discuss the first quarter financial results on May 6 at 5:30 pm Eastern time immediately after releasing its financial results.

New Porsche Cayenne GTS revealed: posh SUV gets more hardcore

This is the new Porsche Cayenne GTS, and it’s a family SUV for those who want to swing by the racetrack on the way home from the school run.

  • New Porsche Cayenne GTS revealed
  • The most powerful non-hybrid Cayenne you can buy
  • 5.0-litre V8 engine with 500hp
  • 0-60mph in 4.4 seconds
  • Suspension upgrades from the Turbo GT
  • Prices start from £106,100

Following the launch of the new Porsche Cayenne last year, you can now order the more harcore GTS model. This alternative to the BMW X5 M60i gets a 5.0-litre V8 engine, as well as a handful of chassis upgrades.

New Porsche Cayenne GTS engine and performance

At the heart of this new Porsche Cayenne GTS is a 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine with 500hp and 660Nm of torque, an increase of 40hp and 40Nm over the previous GTS.

That makes it the most powerful non-hybrid version of the Cayenne you can buy, however the BMW X5 M60i has an extra 30hp. This doesn’t make too much difference in terms of performance though.

The new Cayenne GTS will do 0-60mph in 4.4 seconds, which is just one tenth of a second behind the BMW. It’s also almost half a second quicker than the 2.0-litre Mercedes-AMG GLC 43.

New Porsche Cayenne GTS chassis and suspension

The new Cayenne GTS isn’t about outright pace, you’ll have to go for the 739hp Turbo E-Hybrid if that’s what you’re after, it’s focussed more on handling. You get a handful of suspension upgrades which are lifted straight from the Cayenne Turbo GT, a model which we don’t get in the UK anymore thanks to ever-tightening emissions regulations.

It’s 10mm lower than the standard Cayenne, and it uses Porsche’s clever adaptive air suspension to ensure a wide spread between comfort and tight handling on a twisty road. You also get more negative camber on the front wheels which adds to the agile feeling.

New Porsche Cayenne GTS price and specs

The new Porsche Cayenne GTS starts from £106,100 in SUV form, or £107,700 if you want the more swoopy coupe model. That makes it almost £11,000 more expensive than a BMW X5 M60i.

Thankfully, you do get a healthy amount of additional equipment for your money. The GTS has a more aggressive-looking bodykit than the standard Cayenne, as well as sporty quad tailpipes. Unique 21-inch alloy wheels complete the look.

The interior is trimmed in a suede-like material, and you get electric heated sports seats as standard. The coupe version gets a panoramic sunroof as well.

Hongqi EHS7 electric SUV to unveil at Beijing Auto Show

Last year’s Shanghai Auto Show saw the Hongqi E202 concept unveiled; this year’s Beijing Auto Show will see the production version now called EHS7 unveiled. Ahead of more information later this week we bring you pictures and details.

The EHS7 is the second car in the Hongqi New Energy series following on from the EH7 sedan and in many ways can be seen as an SUV version of this car. Both single and dual-motor versions will be available and we know that the motor setup is exactly the same as in the sedan. This means the rear wheel drive version gets a motor with maximum power of 253 kW while the all-wheel drive adds an additional 202 kW motor to the front. The battery packs are also from CATL and although we don’t know the sizes yet a good guess is that they will be exactly the same meaning that the EHS7 will offer 75, 85 and 111 kWh packs. Maximum speed is 200 km/h.

What’s not apparent from the pictures is just how large an SUV the Hongqi EHS7 is; length is 4925 mm with width and height of 1950 and 1680 mm respectively. At 3000 mm the wheelbase is exactly the same as on the EH7.

The Hongqi EHS7 will come with features including an advanced safety chassis system and 800V architecture giving fast charging. MIIT listing pictures show that some versions will gain Lidar and it is expected that the EHS7 should have a capable intelligent driving system.

Design wise the car is remarkably close to the concept seen last year with largely only changes to the front and back making the EHS7 look more production like. Black side pillars are optional on the production version.

Spy shots of the interior show that it also quite closely resembles that of the concept although in not quite so gawdy colors. The butterfly screen setup seems the same as in the EH7 and so the EHS7 will likely have a 6-inch LCD instrument panel and a 15.5-inch central control screen along with a augmented reality HUD. Presumably powering the car’s system is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 chip.

Already spotted at the Beijing Auto Show venue is a poster for the launch of the Hongqi EHS7.
